Job Description

We’re looking for a Design Engineer with 0-2 years of relevant work experience to join our Mission Hills and Cardiff team. As a Design Engineer, you’ll work on land development projects under the direction of a project manager, coordinating designs with other project engineers and team members, drafting construction documents, and preparing reports. You’ll utilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills along with technical tools and software packages (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Bluebeam , Excel, and SDHM) to assist with your workflow.

Job Functions

  • Design & draft construction plans in AutoCAD/Civil 3D to include grading & drainage plans, utility plans, and erosion control plans.
  • Perform engineering calculations, to include stormwater sizing and analyses.

Prepare reports under the direction of project manager.

  • Coordinate deliverables and communicate schedule with design team and project manager, while also effectively managing tasks and workload.
  • Prepare quantity takeoffs, prepare reports, prepare cost estimates, research record drawings, process plans from design consultants, and revise plans under the direction of the project manager.
  • Organize and manage workload.
  • Interpret topographic & boundary surveys and process milestones from external design team.

Required Qualifications & Essential Skills

  • BS degree in Engineering (Civil or Environmental) from a four-year college or university.
  • Excellent oral & written communication skills.
  • Experience with AutoCAD (Civil3D) required.
  • 0-2+ years of relevant work experience in land development projects.

Preferred Qualifications

  • EIT in the State of California

Salary: $72,000 – $85,000 base compensation (Depending Upon Experience).
